Still in the Womb
Greetings I hope you are all well. We are already a month into the new year….pretty hard to believe. I feel like it was just yesterday when I was back home for the Holidays. The truth is, I have been down in Orlando putting together AB 3 for the last month. Things are moving along nicely. We are still in the middle of Preproduction with Elvis (our producer). He is bringing out the best in us like he always does. I think I will stop calling him Elvis and start referring to him as George…….as in George Martin (the 5th Beatle). For those of you who don’t know what the term “preproduction” means, I won’t bore you with the gory details. I will say it is the most crucial part of making a record (other than writing the songs). It basically consists of sitting with the producer and making sure that the song’s arrangements are solid. Does this verse need a different kick pattern? Does this riff have a smooth enough transition into that bridge? yada yada yada. If one were to hear what we have completed thus far they might be led to believe that this is going to be a dark and heavy record…I am going to hold off on committing to that set of adjectives until the record is done and let you decide. How many times do you hear a musician (especially a Rock Musician) say “Dude, this record is gonna be the heaviest record of our career!” It gets kind of predictable. How refreshing would it be to hear a Rock artist describe his or her next record as “a collection of easy to digest radio singles that will please everyone from Soccer Moms to ABBA fans.” Not that being a Soccer Mom is a bad thing……and I love ABBA!!!!! Who doesn’t? So what is happening with my Solo album? I’m trying to juggle my schedule so I can lay down the rest of my vocals and solos. Speaking of solos, yesterday Slash was kind enough to add some of his guitar genius to one of my tunes. As always, he knocked it out of the park! They don’t call him one of the best guitarists of all time for nothing. I can’t wait until you hear it. I am still trying to figure out the best time to release my record. I have been inspired by those of you who have expressed that you are looking forward to it. It makes me happy to know that someone other than my Wife and dog will give it a listen. I really do miss seeing all of you…..trust me, in the coming months I will return from the creative womb….back to a stage near you. all the best mk

Hey Myles. I can not wait until your solo album comes out. Will be very interesting. I’ve also heard that you have a song on the new Slash record and that you will be touring with him. That is so exciting, I can’t wait. I hope that Alterbridge3 comes out soon. I’m sure that it will be as amazing as the previous two, if not better. Myles, my husband and I love you and Alter Bridge. Not only do we love your vocals but we love your guitar playing too, so haunting and soulful. Great song writing. We each have copies of the 2 CDs because we play them all the time in our cars. Love the Live in Amsterdam DVD and can’t wait for AB3 and your solo CD. Will you make it to Montreal at any point? I think it’s amazing that your songs touch us so much and we never get tired of listening to them. It’s a if you guys said ” What kind of music should we write so that Martin and Deb will love it forever. You guys read our minds and wrote the perfect songs for us to listen to. I have one question and I will be very very happy if you could answer: will your solo album be sell in Brazil? I explain: as a big fan of Alter Bridge (and specially because of you, I love your vocals), I started to look for a MF4 CD, but I couldn’t find it anywhere. I think I spend two month trying to find the 2 albuns, but it just not for sale here. The solution it was download from internet (I hate that, I always buy the albuns of the artist I like). To import these albuns was incredible expensive. Seriously, it was insane.
I got thrilled with MF4 songs (specially of the second album: Second Skin). You just rock man. And, as you told you are going to make a solo album, playing with Slash, I just have to get this.
As a huge fan of Alter Bridge, as I huge fan of Myles Kennedy, I am more than happy to know that you are going to play with Slash. I started to enjoy rock music, when I was 9, 10 years old with Guns N Roses. There was a time that I just listened GNR songs. Even my highschool nickname it was Slash (seriouly, I can prove). So, I think this album it was specially made for me. I HAVE TO HAVE IT.
Man, keeping rocking, and just for you know, there is a lot of fan’s in Brazil. Feel free to include your tour to here.

Myles you are a genius. I love the fact that you have a Jazz background and can translate all that musical knowledge into solid, creative rock music. Your voice is the best iv’e heard since Chris Cornell-not that i’m comparing you to anybody. You are really unbelievable to still be so down-to-earth after all the huge things you’ve recorded. Thank God for that - it’s so much easier to listen to a talented man creating a stunning quality and passionate music instead of a passionate rock star who has nothing to say (but talks anyway).
As I already wrote once - you put so much heart into your work that you could sing telephone book in a bluesy style and that would still suit us! Record what the hell you want, as long as you’re honest and you’re paying with this great voice of yours. I finally managed to import AB’s Amsterdam DVD to Poland - give me the possibility to do the same with Myles Kennedy solo album - make it as much available for the res of the world as possible for you! I came to see you in Madrid, and in the name of Spain I apologize for the awful music taste of spanish people, because it’s amazing that in the concert of the best alternative rock band in the world only 300 people were there to see you!! Myles, I’m really looking forward to your solo album, your “AB3″ ablum and to hear more of your collaboration with Slash on his new one.
