Alter Bridge III Recording Update 03/03/10 (With Photos)

Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010

Hello Alter Bridge Nation,

We are proud to announce that drum and bass tracking on our third album is now complete. The next phase is the recording of the guitars, which Mark and Myles began on Monday. The songs are shaping up really well and we are looking forward to unleashing them on the world later this year. We do not want to talk too much about the songs now, as they are still in the formative process. But know this… the four of us are creating these songs exactly the way we want with absolute freedom. And only the best of the best of the 17 songs we record will make the album.

We also want to let you know that Slash recently did an interview where he talks about Myles and the upcoming summer tour they will be doing together. The big news is that Slash revealed that they will be playing a few of our songs on tour, along with a song or two from Myles’ upcoming solo project along with some old GNR tunes so you will not want to miss it. Here is a link to the complete interview…

Well, that is all for now. Four songs are tracked on guitar so far and today we begin work on song #5. We will leave you with a few photos and be sure to check back for more updates as time allows.

Alter Bridge III Recording Update (With Photos)

Tuesday, February 23rd, 2010

Hello Alter Bridge Nation,

The recording process is moving forward and we could not be more excited about the songs that we are creating. Flip has finished all of his drum tracking and Brian will be finished recording all of his bass tracks by the end of this evening. Then, starting this weekend, Mark and Myles will begin recording guitars.

Our fearless manager, Steve Wood, snapped a few photos while down here in Miami and we thought that we would share them with you. First up, a view from the air of where we are recording.

Here are the how the drums were set up before Flip started recording…

That is all we have got for now. Very few people have heard the songs we are working on (not even our record label) and we are very proud of what we are creating. The word used most to describe what we are creating is dark. We can not wait to unleash our songs on the world later this year. And… we have received word that our tour in October will begin in the UK. We will update you further as more news comes in and also keep you up to date on the recording process so check back soon.

Mark Tremonti - The Tone Behind the Man - Guitar Edge

Friday, February 19th, 2010

The new issue of Guitar Edge Magazine has Mark Tremonti on the cover and also an informative feature with photos entitled: “The Tone Behind the Man”. In the article, Guitar Edge says “Mark Tremonti, the self described “amp-junkie”, talks about his gear preferences and the secrets to holding down the lead guitarists job in two massive bands.”

You can read a digital copy of Guitar Edge at the following link…

Let Mark know what you think of the article in the comments section below.

Recording of AB III Starts Today (With Photos)

Tuesday, February 16th, 2010

Hello Alter Bridge Nation,

It all started yesterday when we arrived in Miami, FL. First, there was a ton of equipment to bring in…

Moving Into the Studio

After that, everything was set up to begin to track…

Alter Bridge Setting Up to Track

We spent the rest of last night getting sounds for Flip’s drums as he is scheduled to be the first one to lay down tracks. Here is what his set-up looks like…

Flip's Drums

And now it is time for Flip to officially lay down the first tracks on our third album. We plan on recording 16 songs but as we have said before, only the best of the best will make the final cut. Stay tuned and we will update you more as the recording process unfolds.

In other news, we would like to let all Comcast Cable subscribers know that if you go to ON DEMAND and choose MUSIC, you can watch a free half-hour preview of our Live From Amsterdam DVD. Just look for the Alter Bridge concert.

And speaking of DVD’s, Mark did an interview in mid-December where he talks about the experience of making the DVD and what it is like to be in two different bands. Many of you may not have seen this interview from San Antonio, TX so we thought we would highlight it. Here is the link…

And finally, Slash had some great things to say about Myles in an LA Times interview and Slash also revealed that he and Myles will be playing many old Guns ‘N Roses tunes on the upcoming tour this summer. Please note that while the author states that Myles “fronted” Alter Bridge in the past tense, incorrectly, we all know that Myles will be back with us in October to begin our own World Tour. Here is a link to the article…

Well, that is all the news that is fit to print for now and it is time for Flip to start banging on things. Game on!!!!

Alter Bridge III Update With More Myles/Slash News

Tuesday, February 9th, 2010

Hello Alter Bridge Nation,

We wanted to let you know we are back at work on the Pre-production today for “Alter Bridge III” after taking a break over the weekend to re-charge. If all goes according to plan, we will begin recording, starting with the drums, in Miami in about a week.We also wanted to make you aware that a new article went up on Blabbermouth stating that Slash has tracked a guitar solo for Myles’ solo project (which Myles announced in his own blog last week) and it also includes a quote from Mark regarding the interest in Myles from other artists. Here is the link if you would like to check it out…

http://www.roadrunnerrecords.com/blabbermouth.net/news.aspx?mode=Article&newsitemID=134747

We would like to make it clear, in case there is some confusion with all the different projects we have going on, that Myles will not begin the Slash Tour until we are finished recording Alter Bridge III. Myles will then return from the Slash Tour before October, when we plan to go out on tour again, starting in Europe and the UK.

In the meanwhile, we are trying to make the best album we can so we better get back to it. We’ll let you know when recording officially begins and any other new news that may pop up so check back.

Keep rocking,

AB3 Update Along With Myles/Slash News

Thursday, February 4th, 2010

Hello Alter Bridge Nation,

We wanted to let all of you know that we are in the middle of Pre-production on our third album (which we are calling AB3 for now) with our producer, Michael “Elvis” Baskette. Pre-production is the process in which we bounce all our song ideas off Elvis, finalize the arrangements, and choose which songs ultimately make the album before we record. If you would like an eyewitness report from Myles, be sure to read his blog entitled “Still in the Womb”. He also breaks some news about Slash appearing on his solo project. Here is the link…

http://www.alterbridge.com/html/2010/02/04/still-in-the-womb/

We are very excited with how the songs we wrote for our third album are turning out so far and, as of last night, we have 10 songs fully arranged. We are going to keep writing and arranging right up until we feel we are ready to record and we still have about 10 more songs that are in various stages of completion we still need to go through and finalize. The ultimate goal is to whittle it down to about 15 songs that we will end up recording. All 15 may not make the final cut on the album but we always feel it is a good idea to record a few extra songs just in case. The first day of recording is drawing closer and we will let you know when it happens in a future update.

In other news, Slash has announced on his blog that our brother in music, Myles, will be fronting Slash’s Tour this spring. You can read the news here…

http://www.roadrunnerrecords.com/blabbermouth.net/news.aspx?mode=Article&newsitemID=134516

We are absolutely thrilled that Myles will be able to showcase his talent with one of the greatest and most influential guitarists in rock music today. After Myles finishes laying down the vocal tracks for our third album, he will join Slash for this tour and then will re-join us in time for our own planned tour of Europe in October. We support Myles 100% in his upcoming road adventures with Slash and we’re looking forward to hearing his upcoming album.

But right now, finishing the pre-production on our third album is very important to us so we are going to get back to it. Stay tuned for further updates and please know that we read all the comments that are left for us so fire away.

Keep rocking,

Alter Bridge

Still in the Womb

Thursday, February 4th, 2010

Greetings

I hope you are all well.

We are already a month into the new year….pretty hard to believe.  I feel like it was just yesterday when I was back home for the Holidays.  The truth is, I have been down in Orlando putting together AB 3 for the last month. Things are moving along nicely. We are still in the middle of Preproduction with Elvis (our producer).  He is bringing out the best in us like he always does.  I think I will stop calling him Elvis and start referring to him as George…….as in George Martin (the 5th Beatle).

For those of you who don’t know what the term “preproduction” means, I won’t bore you with the gory details. I will say it is the most crucial part of making a record (other than writing the songs).  It basically consists of sitting with the producer and making sure that the song’s arrangements are solid.  Does this verse need a different kick pattern? Does this riff have a smooth enough transition into that bridge? yada yada yada.

If one were to hear what we have completed thus far they might be led to believe that this is going to be a dark and heavy record…I am going to hold off on committing to that set of adjectives until the record is done and let you decide.  How many times do you hear a musician (especially a Rock Musician) say “Dude, this record is gonna be the heaviest record of our career!” It gets kind of predictable. How refreshing would it be to hear a Rock artist describe his or her next record as “a collection of easy to digest radio singles that will please everyone from Soccer Moms to ABBA fans.”  Not that being a Soccer Mom is a bad thing……and I love ABBA!!!!! Who doesn’t?

So what is happening with my Solo album?  I’m trying to juggle my schedule so I can lay down the rest of my vocals and solos. Speaking of solos, yesterday Slash was kind enough to add some of his guitar genius to one of my tunes.  As always, he knocked it out of the park!  They don’t call him one of the best guitarists of all time for nothing.  I can’t wait until you hear it.

I am still trying to figure out the best time to release my record. I have been inspired by those of you who have expressed that you are looking forward to it.  It makes me happy to know that someone other than my Wife and dog will give it a listen.

I really do miss seeing all of you…..trust me, in the coming months I will return from the creative womb….back to a stage near you.

all the best

Urgent Need for Help in Haiti

Sunday, January 31st, 2010

Hello Alter Bridge Nation,

As some of you may know, Dan Catullo of DC3 has teamed up with a bunch of artists to deliver aid, doctors and supplies on a plane bound for Haiti. We supported this effort along with other artists such as Godsmack and Tom Morello (Rage Against The Machine) and New Kids On The Block, to name a few. We were not going to publicize our involvement as we choose to do our charity work in private, but a letter we just received changed our minds.

Dan’s assistant sent us an email with the title “Please Help” that reads as follows…

Hey guys, I am SO sorry to keep bugging you all. But Dan is reporting back how truly HORRIBLE things are there. He said its like the Apocalypse. It is SO important to get people texting to donate. Can you guys impress upon your fans that the faster we raise $ for more trips, the faster we can send more aid. They saw over 600 patients today in a make-shift hospital with only 2 doctors and 2 nurses. But they are running out of supplies. They were in an area closest to the epicenter that hadn’t gotten ANY aid until they showed up. It is beyond urgent to spread the word and get more supplies there as soon as possible. Thanks so much for your help and patience, the situation is dire and thesepeople need help ASAP

END MESSAGE

We have seen pictures sent back from the DC3 Team and this is no joke. Just because Haiti is not dominating the headlines does not mean the need for aid has lessened. We are asking all our fans to spread the word and to give whatever you can to this aid effort.

You can read all about the charity and donate at this link… http://www.planetohaiti.org/

Or, for quick results,  you can text SUPPORT MOBILITY to  20222 to give a $5 donation or text GIVETENMOBILITY to 20222 to give a $10 donation. All donations are handled by The Wheelchair Foundation.

We know many of you have already given to the Red Cross or another charity, as have we, but this is a situation with people we know on the ground in Haiti and they are reaching out to victims who, until the DC3 plane arrived, had received NO aid. We CAN make a difference here and as long as the donations keep coming in, the plane can keep dropping off needed aid.

Thank you for your support in this horrifying situation in Haiti. We can not even imagine the suffering that nation is going through.

Respectfully,

Alter Bridge

Alter Bridge Writing Update (With Photos)

Thursday, January 21st, 2010

Hello Alter Bridge Nation,

We’ve been working hard over the past few months, writing pretty much non-stop and trying to make our third album the best that it can be. We’ve taken a huge step in the right direction by enlisting the talented Michael “Elvis” Baskette to produce our third album. For those that do not know… “Elvis” was the producer on our last album, Blackbird, so we already have an amazing working relationship with him. “Elvis” has spent the last few days with us doing pre-production work. He is leaving soon but will be back with us again for more pre-production in a week, after we write some more material. Here is a photo of all of us together last night…

Alter Bridge and Michael

Right now, we have about 17 songs finished with several more in various stages of being put together. We’re not sure how many songs will actually make the album but we promise you only the best of the best. We plan to get right back to the writing today and we will not stop until we are satisfied. We are getting closer to the recording process but we feel we are not quite ready yet. There are still a few exciting musical ideas we have yet to explore.

We still hope to have this album finished by the end of the summer and we are looking at October to start touring. From what we hear from management, Europe will be our first stop and we can not wait to get back. We’re also very excited to tour the USA and other places throughout the world that we have not been yet and when we have more info on when and where this will occur, we will let you know.

But for now, we are solely focused on the writing and we need to get back to it. So we’ll leave you with a few photos of us jamming in our rehearsal space. Spread the word that we will be back with a vengeance, later in 2010!

Keep Rocking,

December 2009 Writing Session

It’s On

Tuesday, December 8th, 2009

Last Wednesday night I packed up and said goodbye to my new friends at Cider Mountain Recorders. It was probably one of the best studio experiences I’ve had in my career. The basic tracks for my record are done, I just have to finish vocals and move on to Mixing and Mastering and we are off to the races. Everything is sounding great so far.

Yesterday I was on a plane making the journey from the Pacific Northwest back to Florida.

Tonight Mark and I continued working on AB 3 by putting some new tunes together. Very exciting stuff.

The last couple of days have been busy…..but I’m not complaining.

Now that the business is out of the way we can get to the information. Myles recently posted on his Blog about his solo project and the upcoming “Alter Bridge III” writing session. You can read his blog entitled: “I’m in the studio making my record”, on his Myspace page at http://www.myspace.com/myleskennedyofficial.

Mark also posted a message to his fans on the www.fret12.com forums. He talks about what he has been up to recently. Please feel free to sign up and participate in the community there. Many musicians have joined the fold, so to speak.

Lastly, Mark recently did a long, honest interview with www.ultimate-guitar.com that encompasses everything that has occured in the last year entitled: “I Always Want to Create Music and Do the Best I Can”. You can read the full interview here… http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/interviews/interviews/mark_tremonti_i_always_want_to_create_music_and_do_the_best_i_can.html

We’re all looking forward to next week, when Myles, fresh from recording his solo project, comes down to Florida (and Brian comes up from Costa Rica) and we can all continue the writing process on our third album. We’ll be working on that until the holiday season arrives, at which point we will spend some time with our families. We’ll keep you updated once the writing process continues, next week.

Oh, and we saw a request from Activision to have our song “Ties That Bind” used on a downloadable package for the upcoming video game, Guitar Hero 6, so look for that in the future.

Alter Bridge News 11-11-09

Wednesday, November 11th, 2009

Hello Alter Bridge Nation,

We are pleased to announce that full band writing sessions for our third album will resume in the first week of December when Myles will fly down to Florida. We hope to get the writing done by the end of January so that we may start recording in February. Mark is hard at work writing songs (he never stops) for the upcoming album as we speak. We are very excited to meet up in December and we will keep you posted when the process starts.

Right now, Myles is locked up in a recording studio until December laying down tracks for his solo project. We are all psyched to hear what our brother in music comes up with as we are sure it will be astounding. We’ll update you with more on this once Myles emerges from the studio.

For those of you who have yet to hear… Myles was tapped by none other than Slash to co-write and sing a song on Slash’s upcoming solo record. We know it was a dream come true for Myles as GNR was very influential to him. Here is a link to read some news on this…

 http://www.roadrunnerrecords.com/blabbermouth.net/news.aspx?mode=Article&newsitemID=129958

We also want to thank all of you fans for spreading the word and keeping our Live In Amsterdam DVD in the Top Ten on Amazon.com in Music DVD’s. We do not have any new news to report on when it will be available worldwide or for digital download, other than the fact that our management says they are working on it. You never know how long all this legal stuff will take, so our advice is to take advantage of the Amazon opportunity. Here is a direct link to purchase (the DVD should work on all computers)…

http://www.amazon.com/Alter-Bridge-Live-Amsterdam/dp/B002RKD8CS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1257976072&sr=8-1

The only other news that we would like to convey is that we will be back with a vengeance in 2010. Don’t listen to what anyone else says. We are all very supportive of each other in all the projects we do, but never doubt that Alter Bridge is our soul. The plan is to have a new album out for you fans in the second half of 2010. We will tour again as soon as we get the album out. Thank you, again, for being patient while Mark, Brian, Myles and Flip all work on different projects.

We’ll let you know how the writing is coming along once we all get together to work out ”ABIII” (Working Title) in the first week of December. Until then, we hope you enjoy our DVD!

Alter Bridge - Live in Amsterdam #1 in Concert/Music DVD’s on Amazon

Monday, October 26th, 2009

Hello Alter Bridge Nation,We are literally stunned that, since last Thursday, our new DVD, Alter Bridge - Live From Amsterdam, shot to #1 on Amazon.com in Concert/Music DVD’s and has stayed at #1 ever since!Amazon projected us to sell hundreds and instead we have blown them away by selling thousands and thousands.

And we have YOU FANS to thank for it. Bear in mind that this feat was accomplished with no support from our label or any promotion of any kind other than us letting you fans know that it is available online here and at our Myspace page at www.myspace.com/alterbridgeWe are humbled by your love and support for this band and it is amazing to see the power that Alter Bridge Nation possesses. Pat yourself on the back because YOU ARE DRIVING THIS!!

We look forward to getting together in late November to continue writing our third album.

Alter Bridge DVD Update - Order Online Now

Thursday, October 22nd, 2009

Hello Alter Bridge Nation,

We spoke to our Director, Dan Catullo, last night to get an update on the status of our DVD. The bad news is that our legal issues with Universal regarding the retail distribution delay have not been resolved. This is infuriating. However, our managers are working hard to right this obvious wrong but we do not have a clear idea, right now, on when a worldwide retail release will happen. It could be delayed until next year.

That being said, we think it would be a crime to make our loyal fans wait any longer to see this concert so we are working hard to make the DVD available online as quick as we can. The version we are selling online is the FULL concert with all the songs played that night in Amsterdam.

The good news is that the USA and Canada fans can purchase Alter Bridge - Live in Amsterdam…. RIGHT NOW! We know that on amazon it says “Usually ships between 1 and 2 months”. THIS IS INCORRECT! Our director told us last night they shipped out thousands of DVD’s in the past few days and he assures us that the “1 to 2 months” wording will be changed to “Now Shipping” as soon as possible. It just takes time for amazon to update as it has to go through the legal department. So, if you are in the USA or Canada you can order now by using the following link…

http://www.amazon.com/Alter-Bridge-Live-Amsterdam/dp/B002RKD8CS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1256234532&sr=1-1

UK and and European Fans - Our director has told us tons of DVD’s in the PAL format have been shipped to amazon.co.uk to be sold ASAP! The amazon UK will not put up a listing of the product until they receive it so keep checking that site often as it could go up any day now.

To our other fans worldwide, not included in the areas above… please be patient. If we can not get it out to your country, we should have it up for digital download in the upcoming weeks which should work for everybody. We’ll post another blog when we have more info on that.

Again, we are very sorry for all the confusion and we hope this will keep all you loyal fans satisfied until we can finally get the deluxe retail version out for sale. It WILL happen at some point but we are sick and tired of waiting and we really want to share this DVD concert experience with you as we are very proud of it and we hope you have as much fun watching it as we did playing the show.

Stevie Wonder

Tuesday, July 14th, 2009

I remember being introduced to Stevie Wonder’s music when I was a child.  He played “Superstition” and jammed with Grover on Sesame Street…I was hooked.

Then a few years later I started to play the trumpet.  One of the first things I attempted to play was the opening horn line from “Sir Duke.”  Though the sound I produced was similar to the cacophony you might hear when putting a cat into a dryer, it still made me feel great.

There was always something about Stevie that intrigued me.  It wasn’t just his singing, it was the magic of all the brilliant songs he composed.

When I discovered Songs in the Key of Life many years later, it would serve as the template for my approach to singing and my early stages of writing.  I would sit in my beat up car and play that cassette over and over as I drove through the streets of Spokane trying to sing along.  His ability to use his voice like an instrument would leave me awestruck yet inspired.

I was reminded of his gift last week as I watched him perform “They Won’t Go When I Go” during the televised Michael Jackson memorial.  Not only was it a stunning reminder of the power that he wields behind a piano and microphone, but it served as a reminder of the musical debt that I owe him as an artist.

As fate would have it, I got to express those very words to him last Friday in Los Angeles.

Actually, I wish I could have expressed them that way.  I was so nervous that I sounded more like Chris Farley when he interviewed Paul McCartney on Saturday Night Live…..

“Umm…remember that time you sang Higher Ground? Umm..that was awesome”

“Stevie thanks for being one of my…um…greatest..I mean….influences…ummm..I mean…like…uhh…#$@%@^ !”

He was still very gracious even though I was tripping all over myself.

To be afforded the luxury of getting to show my gratitude to him is something I will always be grateful for.

The Brussels Blues Enigma Leads Me to Life

Saturday, December 6th, 2008

Today was supposed to be a day off. Little did we know that when we left Bilbao last evening it would be a 16 hour bus ride to our next destination. By the time we arrived in Brussels it was already dinner time and I thought the day was lost.
I tried to burn off steam in the gym and then decided to find something to eat. Being that I am the most indecisive person ever, I walked around forever trying to find dinner. It’s almost like this game that I play where I find a restaurant that will suffice but continue to march on thinking “I will find something better on the next block.” I finally gave up and settled for some Asian fare.
After finishing dinner I start my journey back to the Hotel. To be perfectly honest, I was feeling a bit melancholy as I took to the cold and damp streets feeling out of place and lonely. I haven’t seen my Wife and family in six weeks.
Then I heard a familiar sound in the distance. At first I couldn’t make out what it was, but it was haunting and it drew me in. I desperately wanted to find where it was coming from because it was as if everything I felt inside was resonating and calling back to me.
Finally, I turned a corner and realized the sound was the old familiar moan of a blues harp. The man playing it was rocking back and forth and was totally lost in the moment. Just thinking about it makes my hair stand on end. He was the real deal. It was unbelievable. Who’d have thought that I would find the solace of the blues in the heart of Brussels.
At this moment everything faded. It reaffirmed my love for music. It reminded me of why I do what I do. It was perfect.
Unfortunately, he stopped playing and took his hat full of change and his
Pignose amp and started walking. I followed him for a while like some strange “Blues Stalker” trying to get another fix, but he retired for the evening.
Though I never did hear him play again, he did end up leading me to the central part of town which I never would have found. It was teeming with life. Downtown Brussels is stunning this time of year. Picture perfect for sure.
I took in the sights and sounds. I had a Belgian Waffle and something that resembled very hot apple cider (but definitely a big boy drink if you know what I mean). I took some pictures for my Wife and walked back to the Hotel.
Any ache that had been in my heart a few hours before had been replaced by music and beauty that I had no intentions of finding.

Instead, it found me and served as a reminder that it is good to be alive.

I just wanted to express my gratitude to everyone who voted for Watch Over You on VH1.com. Not only did it make it into the top 20, it went straight to number 10! The fact that so many of you took the time to show your support for this song blows my mind. You never cease to amaze me.

“Leaves are on the Ground”

Wednesday, October 8th, 2008

Hello everyone,

I’m just dropping by to let you all know that I am alive and well. I hope you are enjoying the month of October thus far. I have to admit that this might be my favorite time of the year. If you live where the seasons change, the month of October can be breathtaking. Autumn has always been inspiring for me creatively. I don’t know what it is about the Fall that tends to trigger a harvest (no pun intended) of ideas both musically and lyrically. Maybe it’s the fact that cold forces me to stay inside more. Then again, I don’t get outside much during the summer anyways which can be verified by the fact that my pale skin tends to blind most everyone.

My routine is pretty redundant at this point. Get up, let the dog out, eat my bowl of whatever and disappear into my Lair (studio) where I spend the rest of the day writing. It amazes me how the human mind loses track of time when a person is doing what he or she loves to do. That definitely is not the case every day. The days that aren’t as fun for me are the ones I spend chasing a concept down until I’ve beaten it to a pulp and stripped it of the spark that made it special in the first place. Fortunately, I have learned to step back and gain perspective quicker than I used to.

Some of the ideas are definite contenders for the “Alter Bridge Filtration System.” That is humbling process of taking tunes or parts to your band mates and having them exclaim with glee “that is great” or the opposite response, “…uhh, that kind of sucks.” Either way, you come to appreciate a fresh perspective.

Some of the material is hard to describe. Some of it is moody and dark (for some reason this comes easiest to me). Some very singer/songwriter based (ala Watch Over You). Then there are the bluesy numbers, which a few of you have mentioned that you would enjoy hearing.
I have no idea what I plan to do with a lot the tunes that don’t make it into AB world. I am going to do my best to find a home for them. All I know is that I am having a good time and have no intention of letting up until we return to the UK and Europe for the next tour.

On another note, the band and I are very honored that our friends at VH1 have decided to use “Watch Over You” in conjunction with Celebrity Rehab this season. I am so happy that this song is finally going to be put to good use.

Take care,

mk

Myles’ Blog

We made it home

Friends

We wrapped up the “Alter Bridge UK/European Extravaganza” the other night in Stockholm. I wasn’t sure how or if I was going to be able to sing with the flu bug that had tried it’s best to shut me down. Fortunately, like Berlin, Hamburg and Copenhagen, the Swedish crowd rallied to pull me through. I couldn’t have done it without them.
I last posted about the amazing experience we had as we started the tour in Glasgow. We were so touched by the response that night. We had no idea that was to be the kind of reception we would receive as we rolled into sold out venues from that point on. It was unbelievable at times. The four of us would get off stage scratching our heads like “What is going on? This is insane.” There was even a night when our manager came in after the show complaining because the sound system could not keep up with the 3000 people singing nearly every word of every song. AMAZING!!!!!!! I don’t know if any of you will really understand how profound of an effect this tour has had on us. All we can say is thank you.
We also would also like to shed some light on the fact that our new friends in Enjoy Destroy were a pleasure to have on this tour. As I type this I am listening to their CD and it serves as a reminder of the new talent that keeps music moving forward. I see good things for them in the future. Good luck young lads!
Though we are all a little tired after such an extensive tour, we are sad that this great experience has come to an end. The routine of the road is kind of addictive to some. I can’t speak for everyone, but I certainly fall into that category.
In the coming months we hope to play some shows in the United States. Thank you for waiting patiently for our return. It will be good to see you all again. I believe that we are also waiting to hear info from the powers that be regarding bringing the rock into brand new territories or ones that we have neglected for too long. We will keep you posted.
Much love and respect ,
Myles

Best Wishes from Myles

Wednesday, January 2nd, 2008

Hello my friends,

I hope that all of you enjoyed your Holidays. I certainly did. We got off the road in the middle of December and are spending precious time with family and friends. When you are away from home as much as we tend to be, you savor every moment you get to have with your loved ones. Not to mention the luxury of getting to wake up in your own bed every morning. Though I must admit, I miss the dull roar of the tour bus to lull me asleep each night.
Being that today is the first day of the 2008, I wanted to drop by and wish all of you the best for the new year. I also want to convey the sincerest gratitude from both the band and myself for everyone’s support for Alter Bridge in ‘07.Since “Blackbird” was released a few months back, we have felt an overwhelming wave of positive vibes and feedback from so many of you. Whether it is the enthusiasm from the audience as we perform the songs on the road, or just the words of affirmation you post on our MySpace page, it keeps us motivated to fight the uphill battle that is “The Music Business.”

We look forward to taking our traveling circus overseas in a few weeks and reconnecting with so many of you, as well as establishing new friendships along the way. I understand that it will be quite cold when we arrive. Since I reside in the Pacific Northwest, I don’t think the temperature will be too much for me to tolerate. But I must admit that I can’t wait to see how the Florida based crew will deal with it, especially Flip (Scott Phillips). I am sure his reaction to such an extreme climate change will provide me with hours of joy in the coming weeks.

I guess I should wrap this up. Time to start pulling down all the holiday decorations. I don’t know about you, but I always start to feel a little melancholy when the Christmas tree and the other things are taken down for the year. Especially when I have to deflate my 10 foot tall “Snoopy Santa” and remove him from the front lawn. Though I am sure that my neighbors will be elated.
Happy New Year

Shout Out From Mark

Friday, October 12th, 2007

Hey everyone,

Good friends of ours and my favorite new band, Daughters of Mara, have been added to the show on 11/06/07 at The Grove in Anaheim. More dates to come and you definitely don’t want to miss them. For those who don’t know, the little brother I never had, Eric (E-Rock) Friedman is a member of this band. But that is not the only reason I love their music. All four members are very gifted and a sight to behold in a live setting. So come out and see something special before the rest of the world gets their album next year.

It is a huge honor to have all of your support. Can’t wait to see all of you out at the shows.

Mark Tremonti

What’s Up Alter Bridge Nation!

Monday, October 8th, 2007

Welcome to Alter Bridge’s blog page. First, let me introduce myself… I am Michael Tremonti and I am the conduit between you and the band. As often as we can, we will update this page with thoughts and musings on the concerts as we tour. Sometimes I will update the page and sometimes the band themselves will. But, either way, we will give you a day to day account of what is happening on the road. We will also use this blog to alert you to any cool news as it happens.

So check back often and we will see all of you out on the road!
